Alignment of genomic DNA fragments of the DIIS6 region of the para -type sodium channel gene obtained for An. vagus , An. sinensis , An. paraliae and An. peditaeniatus. The position of the intron was determined by comparison with the mRNA sequences available in GenBank for An. vagus and An. gambiae [DQ026447; Y13592]. The sequences were aligned with ClustalW version 1.83 [29]. Identical nucleotides are indicated by a point (·), dashes (-) refer to missing nucleotides. At amino acid level the wild type An. vagus (L1014), An. sinensis (L1014), An. paraliae (L1014) and An. peditaeniatus (L1014) are 100% identical to the amino acid composition of the DIIS6 region of a wild type An. gambiae [Y13592].
