From: DNA sequence characterisation and phylogeography of Lymnaea cousini and related species, vectors of fascioliasis in northern Andean countries, with description of L. meridensis n. sp. (Gastropoda: Lymnaeidae)

Figure 7

COX1 amino acid sequence differences detected in the alignment of the haplotypes of the lymnaeid species studied, together with Latinoamerican species of the Galba / Fossaria group and other proximal lymnaeid species available in GenBank (only cox 1 sequence fragments of a lenght similar to that of sequences obtained in present study). Variable positions = Numbers (to be read in vertical) refer to positions obtained in the alignment made with MEGA 4.0. - = position not sequenced. Haplotype codes only provisional due to incomplete sequences of the gene. Sequence correspondences: * L. cousini cox 1b and cox 1c correspond to two different haplotypes found in L. bogotensis; ** L. meridensis n. sp. = L. cousini from Laguna Mucubaji (Venezuela); *** P. columella cox 1a = L. ubaquensis; **** P. columella sequence fragment shorter [GenBank: AY227366] [54]
