Activity of prodigiosin against Vero cells and human lymphocytes. 2.5 × 106 adherent Vero cells were treated with prodigiosin for 24 h. After incubation, the supernatant and the adherent cells, previously dislodged, were used to quantify live cells by propidium iodide. 2 × 105 lymphocytes were treated with prodigiosin for 24 h. The lives cells were counting by optical microscopy using the trypan blue dye.
