Flow cytometric analyses of representative peripheral blood samples from cats determined by PCR to be uninfected (PCR-negative) or infected (PCR-positive) with Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum. (A) Flow cytometric profiles show DRAQ5 uptake (Y-axis) compared to cell size (FSC: X-axis). The rectangular gates correspond to the presence of infected erythrocytes, with the number corresponding to the frequency of infected cells out of total live, gated cells. The majority of cells with high DRAQ5 uptake are small, indicative of erythrocytes.
