The TBEV isolates from Canton Valais had seven different variants of the terminal envelope gene. The length of the partial sequence of the envelope (E) gene was 752 bp but only the 29 codons with a nucleotide substitution (highlighted in color) and their position on the E gene are shown. Non-synonymous substitutions are indicated with an asterisk. Sequences were aligned using EMBOSS Showalign (http://emboss.ch.embnet.org/Pise/showalign.html).
