Survival of Anopheles gambiae and Culex quinquefasciatus after taking a blood meal on human volunteers who had ingested ivermectin (150–200 μg/kg) or placebo. Graphs show mean of % survival in the individual experiments for the four groups during the first 8 days. 15 experiments were carried out, but data were excluded from both ivermectin and placebo group of the same mosquito species when the mortality in the placebo group exceeded 20%. Thus, for the two An. gambiae groups, data on days 7 and 8 are based on 13 and 6 experiments, while for the two Cx. quinquefasciatus groups, data on days 6, 7 and 8 are all based on 13 experiments (see also Table 3).
