Pyrosequencing 454 experiments of anterior midgut preparations from R. prolixus 5th instar nymphs 7 days after feeding (DAF) on blood without parasites. Previously, 4th instar nymphs were fed on inactivated blood with or without 1 × 106 epimastigotes/mL of T. rangeli. Each bar graph presents the mean number of sequence reads assigned to a given bacterial family in four insect samples.
