Effect of protease inhibitors on the proteolytic profiles of the midgut of An. aquasalis females. Peptidase activities were detected after incubating the gels for 2 h at 37 °C in 100 mM Tris–HCl pH 7.5. Proteolytic assays were performed in the absence (control) or presence of each of the following protease inhibitors: 1 mM PMSF; 100 μM TLCK; or 100 μM TPCK.
