Neighbor-Joining tree of the SSU-rDNA Giardia sequences. Six sequences from the present study (in bold) and 16 reference sequences representing assemblages A-G were included in the analysis for comparative purposes. Accession numbers of publicly available reference sequences are indicated. The evolutionary distances were computed using the Tamura 3-parameter method and a bootstrap test based on 1000 replicates.
