Effects of EgAgB on pro-inflammatory cytokine production by macrophages. THP-1 macrophages were stimulated with PMA (50 ng/ml) or LPS (0.1 ng/ml) for 12 h in the absence or presence of increasing concentrations of EgAgB. Secretion of IL-1β (a, b) and TNFα (c, d) were determined by ELISA in cell culture supernatant. IL-1β or TNFα levels are expressed as the fold-increase related to the basal secretion (normalised against the medium condition). Results correspond to mean values ± SEM of at least two independent experiments. Asterisks (*) indicate significant differences with respect to PMA or LPS-stimulated macrophages according to one-way ANOVA analysis followed by Tukey’s post-test (p < 0.05)
