Fig. 2From: Vertical transmission of Indian Ocean Lineage of chikungunya virus in Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoesVertical transmission of Chikungunya virus in Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus as determined by measuring log10 PFU/pool of larvae and adults by real time RT-PCR. The graph shows mean value of viral titer (PFU/pool) with standard deviation of larvae and adults of both mosquito species each generation. No significant difference was observed among the generations of Ae. aegypti larvae (P = 0.2223) but there were significant differences observed among the generations of Ae. aegypti adults (P < 0.0001), Ae. albopictus larvae (P < 0.0001) and Ae. albopictus adults (P < 0.0001). Significant differences were also observed among those four groups within the generation in the F1, F2, F3, F4, and F5 generations. Asterisks are indicating significant difference among those groups (*P < 0.0001, **P = 0.0055, ***P = 0.0009, and ****P = 0.0141)Back to article page
