Effect of tick saliva on IL-10 production by THP-1 cells, as measured by 27-plex cytokine bead array. Supernatants obtained from THP-1 cells after 2-h incubations in medium alone (control), in the presence of B. burgdorferi, MOI 10:1 (+Bb), B. burgdorferi and 64 μg tick saliva, (+Bb + Saliva), or B. burgdorferi and 0.7 μM PC, (+Bb + PC), were subjected to cytokine bead array. Cells exposed to B. burgdorferi plus tick saliva showed a significant increase in IL-10 production. ***P < 0.001
