Jaburetox induced in vitro aggregation of hemocytes from R. prolixus adults 3 days after a blood meal. Hemolymph was collected, diluted with Rhodnius saline and incubated with different concentrations of Jaburetox alone or Jaburetox plus 100 μM of Na₂EDTA, for 1 h at room temperature. Controls were performed employing equivalent volumes of saline. The number of aggregates (a) and free cells (b) was counted using a hemocytometer.
