Effect of metal ions on the catalytic/enzymatic activity of rCpEno. Different concentrations of metal ions (Ca2+, K+, Mg2+ and Na+) (a, b, c and d) were measured at room temperature and pH 7.4. The reaction mixtures consisted of 20 μg purified rCpEno and one mM 2-PGA. The enzymatic activities of rCpEno were inhibited with increased concentrations of metal ions (P < 0.05). However, low concentrations of Mg2+ had almost no influence on enzyme activity (P > 0.05). The experiments were performed in triplicate, and the data shown are the mean values ± standard deviations
