Model estimates (± 95% CI) of the effects of the breeding stage on the number of attracted (a) and proportion of blood filled mosquitoes (b) of Cx. pipiens individuals (see also Tables 2, 3). The values presented here were transformed for the corresponding response scale and calculated for mean brood size. The highest number of attracted ​mosquitoes was in the second week after hatching, and this also coincided with the peak of blood-feeding success
