Effect of Anaplasma marginale infection on H2O2 production by BME26 cells. BME26 cells were incubated with A. marginale, menadione, or with uninfected tick cell lysate as control (uninfected). The H2O2 level in the supernatant was quantified using the Amplex Red assay at 1 h (a), 6 h (b), 24 h (c) and 72 h (d) post-incubation. The dots represent the concentration of H2O2 in individual wells (three biological replicates), the horizontal line indicates the median concentration of H2O2, and bars represent the standard deviation at each time point. The asterisk indicates significant differences by Mann-Whitney test (U (4) = 0, Z = -2.09, P = 0.037)
