Parasite burden in infected and vaccinated animals evaluated by a limiting dilution technique. BALB/c mice were immunized with the Wild-type (WT), Random, B1, or D11 phage clones and later infected with 107 L. infantum stationary promastigotes. The parasite loads from each group were normalized with the values found in the saline group. Results of the parasites’ percentage in the liver, spleen, draining lymph nodes and bone marrow, as well as the differences between groups are shown. Bars represent the mean ± standard deviation. Data shown in this study are representative of two independent experiments, which presented similar results
