Effect of monkey kidney cells in various serum/protein supplemented basic media with regards to the mean values of T90 of L. loa microfilariae. Microfilariae of Loa loa were cultured with three different media (RPMI, DMEM and IMDM) with each of the four serum/protein supplements [Albumax (a), FBS (b), BSA (c) and NCS (d)] and (LLC-MK2) feeder cells. For each medium and each concentration of the serum/protein, culture with monkey kidney cells was compared to serum free culture (Mann-Whitney U-test). Number of observations: n = 12.
