Mean (+ SE) number of ascarid eggs per gram of faeces (EPG) of four groups of hens 40 days after the first (of the total four) in-feed exposures to ascarid eggs embryonated in sterilised control soil (SC), sterilised soil with the fungus Pochonia chlamydosporia Biotype 10 (SF), non-sterilised control soil (NC) or non-sterilised soil with P. chlamydosporia (NF). Each bar represents the mean of 28–30 hens allocated to three replicate subgroups of 8 (one NC subgroup) to 10 hens. Different letters above the bars indicate significant differences (P < 0.05, Tukey-Kramer’s adjustment for multiple comparisons)
