Confocal laser microscopy of L. major promastigote cells probed with anti-Leish r PHB1 (a) and anti-Leish r PHB2 (b). The mitochondria were stained in red with MitoTracker. The DNA (nucleus and kinetoplast) is clearly visible stained in DAPI blue. PHB1 fluorescence scatters throughout membranes. PHB2 is distributed throughout the cell mitochondria. In some of the promastigotes, fluorescence is visible in the nuclear region. The control 1 samples (c) were treated with pre-immune sera and the control 2 samples (d) were treated only with the secondary antibody. Scale-bars: 25 μm
