Adhesion of E. histolytica and E. moshkovskii to Caco-2 cells. Trophozoite cells of E. histolytica (a) and E. moshkovskii (b) were incubated with the Caco-2 human epithelial cell line in the presence of a serum of mice immunized with trophozoite cells, with immunization conditions as mentioned and pre-immunized serum as a control. After washing, trophozoite cells bound on Caco-2 cells were counted and represented as means of amoeba number per 1000 Caco-2 cells ± SEM from three independent experiments.
