Scanning electron microscope images of the neutrophils stimulated by L. infantum promastigotes for 5 h. Purified neutrophils were exposed to L. infantum promastigotes for 5 h. The coverslips seeded with samples were fixed with 1 ml of Monti-Graziadei solution and processed for scanning electron microscopy to visualize NET release. a NET structure of a single neutrophil. b NET threads within which a promastigote is trapped (red arrow).
