Colonization of cardiac tissue with T. cruzi amastigotes. Male Wistar rats were infected with T. cruzi and treated for 14 days with ghrelin. On day 15 post-infection, the animals were euthanized, and the hearts collected. The cardiac tissue was fixed with 10% buffered formaldehyde, paraffin-embedded and prepared for hematoxylin-eosin staining.
