The evolutionary history of Glossina mitochondrial sequences showing three main clusters (I, II and III) and a mini-cluster representing particular and atypical Glossina sequences (BMSA65 and TLG103). The tree is drawn to scale, with branch lengths measured in the number of substitutions per site. This analysis involved 82 nucleotide representative sequences of G. fuscipes (s.l.) and G. p. palpalis. Evolutionary analyses were conducted in MEGA X [31]. An outgroup sequence of Stomoxys calcitrans cox1 gene was included in the analyses. Fig. 2.
