Effect of H1-antihistamine drugs on the egg burden in the feces in a preclinical mouse model. Drugs were administered orally using a single dose of 400 mg/kg or 100 mg/kg for five consecutive days to mice harboring either early or chronic S. mansoni infection. On day 56 post-infection, all animals were humanely euthanized and egg burden in feces was measured by Kato-Katz technique. Data are presented as the mean ± SD (n = 5 per group). The numbers represent the percentages of egg reduction vs infected untreated control. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 compared with infected untreated control groups by Dunnett’s test.
