ELISA assessment of temporal serological responses to tick SGE. Serum samples from animals 1 (a), 2 (b), 3 (c) and 4 (d) were evaluated prior to (day 1) and for 90 days after the third tick challenge. Arrows denote the days of tick feedings. A sample was considered statistically significant (P ≤ 0.003) if their mean optical density was more than three times the standard deviation of the mean of the pre-tick challenge serum sample. This threshold is represented by a dotted line
