Chloroquine drugs inhibit the formation of haemozoin. A, B L4s culture medium containing 12.5% deflbrinated blood (DFB) was supplemented with different concentrations (0 nM, 1 nM, 10 nM and 100 nM) of mefloquine and quinine. The wavelength of haemozoin was determined at 72 h of cocultivation. Data were from three independent replicates.
