In total, 642 articles on mosquito-borne diseases published between 2002 and 2021 were identified from online bibliographic databases using different search terms and from other sources. After sorting the titles of publications and removing duplicates, 281 articles were assessed for eligibility and 288 were excluded. Ultimately, 53 articles were retained for analysis in this review
