Principal coordinate analysis plot of pairwise population F ST values for the European Ae. j. japonicus populations. Previously analysed samples from West Germany, Switzerland and Belgium [29] are included in this plot to clarify the relationships between all European populations. Locations examined in this study are numbered as in Table 1. Yellow diamonds = genotype 1, blue diamonds = genotype 2. Samples from the same geographically distinct populations are encircled in blue. The diamond representing location 4, which belongs to the NG population, covers another diamond belonging to the WG population.
