Each experimental pond (closed solid circle) received a set of 2 males and 3 females. On day 28 all the killifish were removed from the experimental pond and the monitoring was continued in the absence of killifish (open circle). The control group (closed solid square) consisted of ponds without killifish. On day 28, 2 males and 3 females were added to the control ponds (open square). The shaded area represent the period when the conditions of the ponds were changed.
