Alignment of cathepsin B ( Cs CB) deduced amino acid sequence from C. sinensis and other species. The deduced amino acid sequence shares 63%, 52%, 50% and 53% identity with CB of S. japonicum, H. sapiens, F. hepatica and E. multilocularis, respectively. Highly conserved residues are shaded in gray. Residues of the catalytic triad (Cys116, His285 and Asn305) are indicated with black triangles. The oxyanion Gln is marked with white triangle; arrow shows cleavage point of mature enzyme, the occluding residues and hemoglobinase motif are boxed.
