Pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1 β, IL-6, and TNF-α) produced by BV-2 cells. Mouse microglia BV-2 was either left uninfected, or T.gondii-infected (T.gondii) or T.gondii-infected and treated with minocycline (T.gondii + M) as described in the Methods section. (A) The mRNAs of pro-inflammatory cytokines were detected by quantitative RT-PCR. The relative levels of IL-1 β, IL-6, and TNF-α expression were compared with GAPDH. (B) Culture supernatants were collected after 24 h post-treatment and tested by ELISA to quantify IL-1 β, IL-6, and TNF-α secretion.
