A minimum spanning network tree depicting the relationships of the different mt 16S rRNA gene haplotypes of I. scapularis in the American clade detected in this and other studies [[30]-[32],[34]]. Crossbars between two haplotypes indicate one nucleotide difference in DNA sequences unless stated otherwise. The size of each circle is proportional to the number of ticks of that haplotype (for this study only).
