By immuno-histochemistry (IHC), there was an increase in apoptotic protein expressions in the brain meninges on the 2 nd and 3 rd weeks post-infection compared to the controls and on the 1 st week post-infection in both the cerebrum and cerebellum. Dexamethasone administration significantly decreased the expressions of apoptotic proteins. Scale bar, 10 um at 10x and 40x magnification.
