HlDFS1 and HlDFS2 significantly protect mice against lethal infection of S. aureus and M. luteus. Mice were infected with lethal doses of M. luteus (a) (1 × 106 cfu per C3H/HeJ mouse) and S. aureus (b) (1 × 108 cfu per C57/BL6 mouse) by i.p. injection. Six hours after infection, mice were treated by i.p. injection of HlDFS1 (100 μg/mouse), HlDFS2 (100 μg/mouse) or saline as controls. Mice were monitored daily for survival and symptoms of disease. Log-rank (Mantel-Cox) tests were used for these survival data
