Toxoplasma gondii significantly increased NLRP3 expression levels in a time-dependent manner. FHs Int 74 cells were mock-infected or infected with the T. gondii GFP-RH strain at an MOI of 10. Cells were harvested 4 or 8 h post-infection. a NLRP1, NLRP3, NLRC4 and AIM2 expression levels were determined by qRT-PCR. HPRT1 served as an internal control. *P < 0.05 compared with the mock-infection control. b NLRP1, NLRP3, NLRC4 and AIM2 protein levels in cell extracts were determined by Western blotting.
