  1. Notes: Samples were taken from four counties in Florida: Jackson, Liberty, Gadsden and Jefferson. Trapping was conducted using CDC miniature light traps baited with either UV or incandescent light and, when available, CO2. Deer EHDV positives were first detected by gross pathology of the animal and tissues followed by RT-PCR confirmation of EHDV viral RNA. Trapping at Jackson, Liberty, Gadsden-2 and Jefferson took place only after an initial EHDV-related mortality from September-October. August data is included for Gadsden-1 due to ongoing trapping at this location at the time of the EHDV outbreak
