Bayesian phylogeny of the mitochondrial cytochrome b lineages (479 bp) of avian Haemoproteus parasites, which are transmitted by biting midges (Ceratopogonidae) (pink box) and louse flies (Hippoboscidae) (green box). The tree was rooted with Leucocytozoon sp. (lineage lSISKIN2), and is drawn to scale based on inferred substitutions per site. Codes of the lineages are given according to the MalAvi database [27]; GenBank accession numbers of the sequences are provided in parentheses.
