Age-specific patterns of visceral leishmaniasis incidence in communities located in historically endemic blocks compared to newly affected blocks. The cumulative incidence in communities in endemic blocks was highest in the 10–19 year age group and low in older age groups. In blocks with newly recognized transmission, the cumulative incidence was substantially higher than in endemic blocks and was highest in the oldest age group
