The PCR product of marker C508 imaged after gel electrophoresis for individuals of the C. variipennis complex. This marker is roughly 350 bp in length and, of the samples tested, shows amplification in only C. sonorensis. These specimens represent a subset of individuals tested in this study. For each species, at least one individual from each sample location (Fig. 1a) is shown here
