PBMCs were treated with phosphate-buffered saline (negative control), purified pET-32a protein (positive control) and serial concentrations of rHc-HAP for 24 h. The cell proliferation index was determined by setting the OD450 values of the control group as 100%. Data are presented as the mean ± SEM from three independent experiments
