Submission guidelines

Before you submit your manuscript to Parasites & Vectors, please ensure you have read and noted the below:

Submit by section
You will be asked to choose a journal section to submit your manuscript during the submission process. Please check the section information page to assist you in selecting the appropriate Section for your manuscript.

Please ensure your manuscript conforms to the Journal's formatting guidelines as outlined in the Parasites & Vectors Editorial Style Guide, and the more detailed instructions by article type available in the 'Preparing your manuscript' section.

Graphical abstract
A graphical abstract image must be uploaded during submission. This is a picture which will appear underneath the Abstract on the website. It should be relevant to the topic covered and serve to attract readers' attention to the article. The graphical abstract image may be one of the images included in the article or any other image the authors feel to be appropriate. See Submission Guidelines for details.

Parasites & Vectors provides a copy editing service for accepted manuscripts. To facilitate the copy editing process we ask that authors upload an editable version of their manuscript.

    Please note that manuscript can only be submitted by an author of the manuscript and may not be submitted by a third party. 

Plant raw materials, derivatives and extracts

Investigations on biological activity of plant raw materials, derivatives or extracts, including essential oils, must be standardized in order to elucidate their qualitative and quantitative phytochemical composition, at least of major compounds. The methodology used must be described in detail, including procedures, apparatus, columns, stationary and mobile phases, detection, etc.

For all plant species used in investigations, from wild populations or cultivated ones, a voucher specimen must be deposited in a biological collection, where the site (GPS coordinates) and date of collection, with the part(s) used in the study are documented, and the voucher number must be cited in the manuscript.
