Sexual stage commitment of P. falciparum is restricted by ABA treatment within 24 h of mosquito infection. Expression levels of P. falciparum genes pfs16 and pfs25 in ABA-supplemented parasite-fed mosquito midguts were normalized to mosquito ribosomal s7 protein gene and parasite a18s gene expression. Each dot represents one replicate of 10 pooled midguts. Data are shown as fold change relative to control and were analyzed by Student’s t-test. *P ≤ 0.05
